Weekend in Baunei: a 2-day itinerary

Two days in Baunei are enough to taste the best of Ogliastra: one cove of the Selvaggio Blu, the Golgo plateau and an evening in the village. Here's an itinerary tested by our guests.

Day 1: Cala Goloritzé

Early morning: coffee at the property, drive to the Golgo parking lot (9 km). 3.5 km hike to the bay (about 1 hour).

Swim and packed lunch on the beach. Hike back in the afternoon. Dinner in Baunei at a village trattoria: culurgiones and roast pork.

Day 2: Golgo plateau and Pedra Longa

Morning on the Golgo plateau: the karst sinkhole, the small San Pietro church, an agriturismo for a typical Ogliastra lunch.

Afternoon at Pedra Longa: park, short trail to the monolith, swim in clear waters. Sunset aperitivo on the Santa Maria Navarrese promenade.

What to bring

Hiking shoes, swimsuit, beach towel, hat, at least 2 litres of water per person for the hikes.

A car is essential — the trails and coves aren't served by public transport. High-SPF sunscreen and a light jacket for evenings in the village.
